Man, I am glad I decided on a veggie burger over a turkey burger for dinner – I’m satiated but not overly full after this delicious & light meal.

I really like the soft texture and fresh taste of these burgers. I think I’ve written this before, but these aren’t veggie burgers masquerading as meat burgers. It’s clear they’re veggie burgers in both taste & appearance –  which appeals to me!

We also had sweet potato fries, which were much better without the skin. I find that the potato skin gets tough, so from now on, I’m peeling my sweet ‘taters when I make fries.

I’ve been dreaming of this warm-weather favorite of mine for a few days now:

Banana Mocha Milkshake

  • frozen banana slices
  • Silk Light Chocolate Soymilk
  • plain nonfat yogurt
  • Stonyfield Farms Gotta Have Java nonfat frozen yogurt

I was so excited while tossing ingredients into our new blender, that I didn’t measure anything – sorry ’bout that! The end result was fantastic! Thick, coffee-chocolaty, and the perfect amount of sweetness… ah I love milkshakes. I’ll be putting this blender to good use this summer!

The rain has stopped (for the time being), the sun is shining, and I feel invigorated after an hour long walk with Addie in the stroller.  Newton is a fantastic town to wander around in!

Here’s the grub that I packed last night:

  • Food Should Taste Good Buffalo Tortilla Chips, which are tasty but could be more buffalo-y
  • apple (did I really need to write that?)
  • a Kashi Pumpkin Pie TLC bar, to be consumed as an afternoon snack
  • this monster sandwich:

  • TJ’s whole wheat fiber bread
  • Sabra Supremely Spicy Hummus
  • 3 slices TJ’s peppered turkey breast
  • baby romaine
  • pickle sandwich stacker slices

Sometimes a girl’s gotta have a big deli-style sammie!

I was planning on joining John in some turkey burger fun for dinner, but after this turkey bonanza, I might go with a veggie burger instead. I’ve come to accept that, AT MOST, one meal featuring meat per day works best for my body. I don’t even miss meat on days that I go completely without it. I’m not considering adopting a vegetarian diet, but too much meat – even white meat – makes me feel rather lethargic. Anyone else experience this?

I hope you are waking up to a sunny morning! It’s going to be another cloudy day here, boooo.

Breakfast helped my mood:

img_2745

  • about 7 oz Chobani nonfat plain greek yogurt (from the big tub)
  • 1 banana, sliced
  • 1/2 cup Peanut Butter Puffins
  • 1/4 cup Nature’s Path Agave Plus granola

This yogurt bowl was both tasty & filling – the ideal qualities for a morning meal!

Aaaaaand I’m off. Enjoy your day!
