1 ½ Cup rice.

½ Cup urad dal.

Salt as per taste.

1 Cup curd.

1 Small packet  ENO.

1 tsp Black pepper powder.

Water according  requirement.

3 tsp Oil.

½ tsp Mustard seeds.

½ tsp Jeera.

Pinch Hing.

2tsp Curry leaves.


First wash and soak rice and  urad dal in water for 4-5 hours separately.

After 4-5 hours drain water from both and grind it in mixture jar with the of  help of curd and water (the batter should be in pouring Constancy use water according to your requirement).

Cover and keep the better in warm place for 5-6 hours for fermentation.

Then heat the water in a steamer at medium flame grease the dish with oil and place in steamer.

take a blow add batter ,salt and ENO pack  and mix the batter properly .

Now pour the batter on the dish which we placed in steamer sprinkle black pepper powder on it and cover the lid for 15 min on medium flame.

Open the lid after 15 min and remove the dish from the steamer and allow it to cool little .

Then cut it in a diamond pieces .

Then take a pan add oil let the oil get heated add jeera and mustard seed when the seeds crackel add hing and curry leaves .

pour the tempering over the dhokla serve it hot with chetney.
